What a pleasure when the first tour of spring finally happens! The ice went out on Cobbossee on April 21, sooner than expected by many for sure, and the Commodore's party barge was launched on Wednesday of that week (always a thrill), even though the order of business for that ride was only to drag the dock from its winter storage area back to its rightful location.
Then.....on Friday, April 26, Comfort ll, along with your Commodore, Mrs. Commodore, and first mate Amos, set off on the first 2 plus hour excursion focused on the north half of the lake. The accompanying photos give us a picture of that voyage.Enjoy!
Photo from Tuesday, April 22, showing just a small floating piece of ice.
Farr's Cove 2:06 pm, April 26, 2008.
It's always fun to hear the sound of the engine as a float plane clears the water on take-off. Here the "eagle-on-the-tail" takes off near Molazigan Island and flies over Cuba Island most likely on another majestic scenic flight over our beautiful lake.
Section of Dock?
The following is a photo of what appears to be a piece of a docking system. It floated up on to the rocks at the Commodore's residence on the morning of May 5, 2008. It is in good condition, very heavy, and looking for its rightful owner to come and haul it away! Please?
