Winter Photos from 2007-2008
Just thought you might like to see what you are missing if Cobbossee in the winter is not your thing. December 2007 was very cold! December 2007 was very snowy! And January, although we had a brief "January thaw," (temperature on one day hit 60 in many places!) has continued with more snow including over a foot on January 14!
Winter on Cobbosse for 2007-2008 has been absolutely gorgeous to be sure!!! Our ultimate beauty? Check it out.
January 15 sunrise. What a way to begin the day after a storm of over a foot of snow!
The next series of 5 photographs was taken on January 14 and 15, 2008 following one of our biggie snowstorms!
A bear in the woods or just someone sweeping the walk?
Remember Amos, the boat dog? Well, he loves the snow more than the water!
Woods road after a snowy night. It is pretty though. Isn't it???
January 1, 2008! Ice fishing begins. The traps are baited. And word is that the fishing has been very good! Have you been out?
And snowmobiles have hit the ice! Be cautious out there!!!

Now it's on past the Cobbossee Colony Golf Course and on to the 5 Bridges.
(And, why do we call it the Five Bridges? And, why did Daniel Robinson call it the Three Bridges? Why???)
A great scenic overview of the Five Bridges area.
Here we cross over the Sanborn Road.
Moon over Jugg Stream.
And now we finish up this journey along Route 135 in Monmouth and Winthrop.
Winter is definitely upon us, so let's drive carefully and when it comes to the ice on our beautiful Lake Cobbosseecontee, let's be really careful.
Be cautious! Always check ice thickness! Be SAFE!!!
And from all of us at the Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club.....
Happy New Year!
