On a lovely, although a bit cool, Wednesday evening, May 28, 2008, the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce presented another "Business After Hours" event at Lakeside Motel and Marina, hosted by the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed. Andy and Sheree Wess graciously offered the use of their facility which certainly is an appropriate location for what now appears to be an annual event. They also provided all of the beverages! This was an old fashion style cookout with hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, chips, beverages, etc. Good food and conversation was had by all, and Clark Marine was there with a few really nice Avalon pontoon boats (one captained by Dave Barnes) to give folks a chance to get out and see our beautiful lake. Numerous prizes were also raffled off!
During the evening comments were made regarding the Friends and the significance of clean lakes by Rob Brown of Clark Marine, Andy Wess from the Marina, and Robin Struck from D.R. Struck Landscape Nursery. That was a nice touch reminding us of the importance of groups like the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed and what they do to help preserve and improve the quality of our lakes!

The crowd is gathering.
And good discussion ensues
Now just who gets the most attention in this group?
Awaiting the drawing of the prizes.
So keep checking those numbers folks! Last three.....
