The following three photos were received Friday, November 4 and labeled only, "From Irene at Birchwood." We appreciate our followers keeping us up-to-date on happenings around Lake Cobbosseecontee! Thanks for sharing these with us as photos and stories are always welcome!
WOW! Can we really ever tire of seeing photos of the glorius Bald Eagle? Here is a great one taken by Mary Beth Stanek on August 19, 2011 at 6:56 PM. WOW!
The following two photographs, originally displayed on Facebook, show Dick and Karen Robichaud with grandkids in their historic Lyman. July 2011.

YUP! Someone Goofed!
In a letter dated August 19, 2010, Michelle Biron included the following two photos taken at the Breezy Shore Cove and asked if maybe we could include them in The Cobbossee Pilot. Somehow, that letter and photos ended up in a bag that the Commodore's wife discovered just today, July 7, 2011. Ouch! Apologies have gone out to Michelle, and, hopefully, you all can now enjoy seeing Jaylee Soucy, the 4 year old (at that time) daughter of Jaime Biron and Denis Soucy. Lee and Sue Biron of Monmouth are grandparents. According to Michelle's note, "She (Jaylee) decided she wanted to try water skiing and there she went; this was her first time ever but after a couple tries it was like she had been doing this every day. When she was done she gave us all the thumbs up. She is the next generation of the Biron family to take to the water."
Wow! How is that for determination and drive! Wonder what she is going to do this summer?

WOW! New Years Day until about January 5th, there was still open water in portions of the North Bay!
Plenty of snow and ice as of the end of January, however. We hear some coves have near 20" of ice yet in the north bay there is less than a foot in many areas. Still pays to use caution! Get out and have fun! Lots of snow but much slush underneath as well just to make the going tough!
The above photo was taken out the back door of the Commodore's house on the evening of the January 12 blizzard. The walk had been shoveled at least four times at the time the picture was taken and at least 10 inches of new snow was on the ground! It was brutal!

Amos the boat-dog sitting on the launch thinking, "Where's the boat?" Woof!

So...the ice is in, but let's remember to be cautious. Know that the ice is SAFE!
