Heather Davidson is a semi-retired professional photographer with an outstanding resume. She lives on the Pond Road in Manchester on Lake Cobbosseecontee, and on July 17 she and Joe Lupsha joined the Commodore and his wife, Vivian, and Bill and Evelyn Kieltyka for the 7-7:30am annual loon count.
Her latest book, "Maryland's Chesapeake Bay Watermen 1985-2005," was published in 2009. A 20 year history of Maryland's Chesapeake Bay commercial fishermen at work, this book contains over 160 photographs and paints an in depth picture of how these men make their living. A well received book, it is currently almost sold out! Enjoy these photos.
This cooperative loon was photographed on that July 17th loon count trip.
The following archival photos were taken by Heather as well. The loon was photographed on an August morning in 2009 and had the advantage of a nice sun. They certainly make a great subject!
Can one ever tire of images such as these? They are just so representative of this wonderful Maine treasure, Lake Cobbosseecontee! Thank you so much, Heather!
