During the week of November 7, 2011, the light at our lighthouse went out and a plea was put forth for transportation out to do a simple fix. The bulb had burned out even though it had been installed less than 2 months earlier. A halogen bulb no less. Oh well! Anyway, Bill Kieltyka, CYC Vice Commodore still had his Boston Whaler available, so he and the Commodore launched (Thanks Andy) on Sunday afternoon, November 13, and proceeded to get the light back in good working order. Enjoy the photos below of that trip including a few shot from shore by the wives following the progress of the cool and windy adventure.
LIGHT'S ON! NOT!! MAYBE??? Monday night, November 14, and it's out again. What the heck is going on??? Will try again ASAP!
In fact, we tried again Saturday, November 19 thanks to CLARK MARINE'S offer to launch a boat to take us out there. It was a cold ride especially on the way out heading into a stiff southwind, but all operating parts were replaced and relocated, and just maybe the lighthouse lighting problem has been solved.
THANK YOU CLARK MARINE! THANK YOU DERRICK!
With fingers crossed we hope the light now stays flashing for an extended period!
PLEASE!
Thanks again to Andy at Lakeside Motel, Marina and Cabins!
