Another occasion for the CYC to get out and promote its activities came at the annual Manchester Apple Festival (a cold and windy day by the way) that featured many cool events for children, a great parade, some fine crafts and food, ice cream from the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed's Otter II, and a daring footrace across a small pond on apple crates that, in fact, was not accomplished successfully by any participant. Looks like they had a good time though as long as you think windy, cold and very wet is good time! OK, $100 bucks added to the kitty for next year?
For your Cobbossee Yacht Club though, it was a great opportunity for exposure, and we did sell some clothing as well. For some reason, hooded sweatshirts were popular! And, hopefully, we will get a few new members out of this effort and that certainly makes the whole day worthwhile.
Thanks to all of those involved in this event, most of whom you see in the photos below, and to Hank at the Augusta Country Club for supplying the tent and the tables! He arrived before the event to set up and came after to take down. That was much appreciated!
So here we are getting set up under that tent, deciding how to display the merchandise, and certainly waiting to go after a nice hot cup of coffee and a tasty fresh cider donut!
And our Friends with the Otter II were just next to us! What a cool day for ice cream for sure!
