Recognize those "little devils" used in our featured item section for this page? They actually came to each guest at this party courtesy of Treby Johnson who came over from Port Clyde with his wife Arline. See.....you just never know what is going to happen at a CYC event! It did add a generous bit of humor to the evening for sure. Thanks much, Treby!
The boys in the kitchen solve the construction issues of the world?
Meanwhile, some Johnson's gather around "the eats."
Other guests get comfortable in the parlor. And welcome back, Roy!
The Mills, the Robichauds, and the "spread!"
Thanks for the delicious snacks, Sandy! Anybody ready to dig in?
Study hard now folks!
During the evening, Bob brought out his wonderful collection of Lake Cobbosseecontee related postcards, and what an enjoyable time was had as guests were able to look at some very interesting history! Great cards prompted great discussion.
And old postcards like those in the album show what life must have been like on the lake during the early 1900s. We saw photographs of our Ladies Delight Island lighthouse, Belle Island light, summer camps like the YMCA, Camp Kippewa, and Camp Cobbossee, old hotels and inns, cottages, and, of course, delightful old photos of Island Park! What an exciting opportunity to see, discuss, and enjoy this incredible lake history.
Thank you, Bob.
If you too have a collection of lake related cards do not hesitate to send us copies at commodore@cycmaine.org.
Relaxing in the parlor!
"Now before you leave us, how about one more bite?"
Hungry little devil!
No wonder.....YUM!
