Saturday, August 25 was another opportunity for members of the CYC to raft up off Island Park for a couple of hours of music and friendship! Thanks must go to Ed and Sharon Balboni for again supplying the power this year for equipment set up by CYC Vice Commodore, Bill Kieltyka who supplied appropriate music reminiscent of that which was often played at the island pavilion so many years ago. Created by the Augusta, Gardiner and Winthrop Street Railway Company (the trolley!) in 2003, Island Park, with its dance pavilion, outdoor theater, swim beach, and even a small hotel, became the place to spend a nice summer afternoon at the lake or to enjoy an evening of dancing there! Do you remember?
Quite the contraption! Congrats to John and Mary Beth Stanek and Mike and Cheryl Soucy for getting it all the way to Island Park!
Nice shot! A very interesting look at the the skies above Island Park! A flyover enjoying the raft-up???
