The 100th Anniversary Party for Ladies Delight Lighthouse! Held at the home of Charlie and Lucie McCarthy in Manchester. August 9, 2008
What a lucky day! With rain all around us during both of our afternoon events, we all managed to stay almost completely dry with just a few showers at the end of this great get-together. And what a time it was! We had an absolutely fantastic turn-out, the food, catered by the Augusta Country Club, was wonderful (Thanks again Hank!), music by the Downeast Brass was just perfect, and the cake baked by Nancy Crocker of Augusta, was absolutely amazing. Is it not just a beauty? And yes, the light flashed!
As happens at all of our CYC events.....good company, good food, good time! You just can't go wrong! So, check out the photos below to see how we celebrated the 100th anniversary of our Ladies Delight Lighthouse!
Taken from the lighthouse top, this photo looks at the anniversary party location.
To the left of that georgeous lighthouse cake is a framed note that reads as follows:
Lighthouse Cake Created by Nancy Crocker Chocolate and White Layer Cake with Scrumptious Frosting
Sponsored By: Pat Connors "Your Cobbossee Connectiion" Homestead Realty
What a beautiful location for this historic occasion.
The registration table where folks signed in and could purchase raffle tickets and prints.
Bob and Betty get a chance to catch up on all the news.
The ACC food table where guests spent a great deal of time!
Downeast Brass provided just the right background music. Great job guys!
Hank sure did hate to cut that cake it was so awesome! But, the demand for chocolate was there so it just had to be done. What a great cake by Nancy Crocker with a top supplied her husband. Thanks!
The Secretary of the Interior!

SPECIAL THANKS!
On behalf of the CYC, the Commodore wishes to express thanks to the following:
Patricia Connors of Homestead Realty in Winthrop for sponsoring the wonderful lighthouse cake that was created by Nancy Crocker.
Rick Tardiff of McCarthy Printers in Augusta for supplying the banner that was draped around the lighthouse as advertising.
The Cobbosseecontee Yacht Club is definitely fortunate to have so many folks willing to sponsor its events so that monies raised through dues, merchandise purchases, and donations can be used for lake preservation efforts. Thanks to all!
